15mm Italian wars VI. Artillery Emplacement, more work.

I have detailed the wooden cannon platforms  and painted and added the gabions  and also built up the embankment with grey pumice. The cannons are also now fixed in place.
The next paint job for this project is the barrels, boxes and a few other bits to add to the clutter of the scene!

15mm. Italian wars V. Artillery battery progress

The cannons and  ammo wagon are painted, and i have had to raise the ground around the cannons by adding two layers of card. This proved necessary to bring the ground to the same level as the wooden cannon platforms, and i filled the gaps and smoothed the edges with Vallejo grey pumice.
The gabion sets at the front of the cannons were ordered from a company called 'Last Man Last Bullet, and they are superb with no apparent need to clean up and have fitted perfectly into what i was looking for.

15mm. Italian wars IV

A few more items added to my Renaissance project. All await basing up.

The landsknecht pike bloc so far.

A new command base added in the shape of the formidable Georg Von Frundsberg, the father of the Landsknechts!

And finally this is a dry run of a planned artillery emplacement, the wagon at back right is an ammunition wagon! I intend to add cannon ball heaps made from green stuff. I will probably add more gabions and other bits and bobs to when the time comes to start this diorama!

15mm Italian wars III

More old glory landsknechts, almost two thirds completed on this imperialist pikebloc!

I have furthered my plans for the imperialist artillery and have purchased some extra scenery like wooden battery platform, Gabions, barrels, baggage and supplies and other goodies to make a  more fixed artillery emplacement.

15mm. Italian wars II

I have not had much time to work on the 15mm collection over last month but have managed to add a few additions, albeit still in need of basing, which i will do when the Landsknecht pikebloc is completed!

This is the center bases of the Landsknecht bloc completed, with Command, halberds and standards with a few pikemen , the rest will be mostly pikemen. All flags are high quality paper prints from petes flags.

The Duke of Bourbon, a french noble who rebelled against his king, francis I, and fought against him at the battle of Pavia in 1525, and was later killed in 1527 leading the Imperialist assault on Rome, or as it is better known , the sack of Rome!

                                          The figures are 15mm Essex

Finally, the Imperialist Artillery park grows. All are old glory.
And a special thanks to Oli at Camisado blog sight for pointing me to some great art work of the period depicting artillery of the time, it has helped me to choose the cannon colours, thanks Oli!
