15mm Swiss/Burgundians

I continue to play with 15mm. These are legio heroic Swiss

Charles the Bold based up.

The short term plan at the moment is to finish off Charles the Bolds mounted retinue and then complete a bloc of 72 mirliton Swiss, then back to adding to the Burgundians another mounted retinue under the Bastard of Burgundy and a unit of 24 Burgundian archers.

15mm Burgundian Cavalry 1

A new project and something I have wanted to try for a long time, namely having a go at 15mm scale, and late medieval was the obvious place to start, so I ordered some mounted figures from mirliton and a few of  Donnington's figures including there superb Charles the Bold, plus a mix of mirliton and legio heroica Swiss.
Firstly I was shocked at how small these figures are compared to 28mm figures,  but now I have got some painted I must say I love the little wee chaps.

The flag is a print with a bit of extra detailing, and besides Charles the Bold( The Donnington miniature) who took much of a day to paint they paint up very quickly and easily compared to 28mm figures!
A comparison of the two different scales: 15mm mirliton and 28mm front rank miniature!

Once I have finished these mounted figures I will try out some of the Swiss pike which look very fiddly to paint but if I am happy with the results I will be giving this scale a bit more time!

Swiss rear rank Halberdier's

I am pleased to have these finished,  and Perry miniatures have just released some new Swiss command figures which would have been perfect for this collection, what timing to release them as I complete my third and final main Swiss infantry block, anyway now to find time to base them up!
