15mm french Gendarmes

That's the last group of 18 French Gendarmes completed , so I can now return to finishing the few remaining Swiss to complete the 72 figure pikebloc, and then on to 24 Burgundian archers.

  1. Lovely! Gendarmes are a favorite of mine, and you've done your usual excellent brushwork on them.

  3. Incredible work Chris, how you managed to add that little squared pattern on the horse's armor will remain a mystery to me :0)

  5. Lovely work Chris!, these French Gendarmes look awesome, I also like (and I know how it feels ;o) the painted caparisons (cloth) over the horses, i.e. the reddish/green checkered caparison figure....marvelous!

    cheers,

    1. Thanks Phil, the Essex Gendarmes are great figures to paint, and I plan to have a unit of heavy imperialist German cavalry if I can find the appropriate figures in the more fluted style armour!
